Tony is only 16 and was born with Ichthyosis.  His life is dominated by the condition, but he still remains positive...

"I was borm with Harlequin Ichthyosis, which means that I have diamond-shaped, hard scales on my skin.  It is very dry and it means that I have to apply very thick moisturiser all over my body several times a day.

My condition definitley puts a strain on my family, even though I have a carer who helps us.  My routine is very strict and if I miss a time when I should be moisturised, I will be in a lot of pain. 

People always stare at me because I look so different, but I'm used to it.  It upsets my family, but when people look at me I just smile at them..."
