Polly is 4 years old and was born with a brithmark on the right-side of her face.  Her father, Terence, tells us their story...

"Our Polly was born with a birthmark that meant a lot of her face was disfigured.  It was such a shock to see our first-born and only child to look so different to what we were expecting. 

When we first starting taking her out in public, the experience was enough to make you hate everybody- the stares my little Polly was getting was unbearable.  People would even approach me and my wife and accuse us of child abuse.  Nobody could understand why Polly looked the way she did.  Polly was blissfully unaware of everything around her, which was some consolation.  But my wife and I often wonder what will happen when she starts to grow older and realises that people might look at her differently because of the birthmark.

We have been told that the birthmark will get smaller as she gets older, but I wouldn't wish this turmoil on anybody.  But despite all of that, our Polly is the bubbliest and most gorgeous girl..."
