Respect Your Skin is the UK's only and largest ever skin health campaign

2008 is the year of skin, with Respect Your Skin- the year long campaign, beginning in January 2008- set to raise awareness on 12 different skin health topics amongst the UK public.

The British Skin Foundation has noticed the rise in the cases of skin disease in the UK, as well as an increase in the number of people wanting to know more about their skin's health.  A survey conducted by the British Skin Foundation in July 2007 also found that 84% of dermatology professionals believe that the UK public does not recognise the importance of their skin.  Because of these reasons, the British Skin Foundation felt that the time was right to begin educating the public about their skin.

2008 will consist of raising awareness on 12 key skin topics, including men's skin, children's skin, hair, and looking after your skin.  An entire month will be dedicated to each of the 12 topics, during which, the British Skin Foundation and various supporters of Respect Your Skin will be raising awareness by providing information on the website, through the media and various activites throughout the year.

To mark the month of March, The British Skin Foundation has launched a national children's art competition to win a 'Children's Party Capsule' for 20 friends and family on The London Eye!  Click here to find out how to enter!
