22 April 2012

Got a ballot place for the London Marathon? we want to hear from you!

Be part of the world’s largest running event and do something amazing for the British Skin Foundation in 2012!  If you have been successful in the ballot entry for the marathon in 2012, and would like to run for the BSF, please get in touch.

Firmly established as one of the world’s greatest running events, and watched buy millions in over 150 countries across the world, the Virgin London Marathon is truly something special. The 26.2 mile course takes you past some of London’s most famous and iconic landmarks, from the Cutty Sark to the Docklands and into the heart of the capital itself. You’ll pass the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben along the way before finishing on the Mall at the foot of Buckingham Palace.

If you have been lucky enough to have gained a place through the ballot, please do get in touch, as we’d love for you to run for the British Skin Foundation. We know training and actually running the event itself is not easy, so we’ll be there every step of the way to get you to the finish point. As a member of the BSF London Marathon team you will receive:

  • A training guide to suit your running ability
  • A full fundraising pack full of ideas on how to maximise your fundraising as well as ongoing support from the BSF team on getting the most from your supporters
  • A British Skin Foundation technical running vest
  • Regular training and fundraising tips all the way up to the big day
  • An online forum so you can share your experiences and gain useful information from other BSF supporters
  • Most of all, you’ll be on the receiving end of everlasting gratitude from the BSF team and the skin disease suffers you helped!

If you would like any further information please contact kelly@britishskinfoundation.org.uk or 020 7391 6088.

Why Run for the BSF?

OneEvery penny you raise goes back into funding research for cures for numerous skin diseases, from skin cancers to common conditions like eczema.

TwoThe London Marathon is an amazing event. Aside from the personal sense of achievement you'll gain for doing it, make all your effort count towards something bigger.

ThreeThe BSF can only fund 25% of all research applications it receives, and if we're going to stop the misery felt by millions because of their skin, we need to do more.

FourWe need more people to understand what we do and why - Skin disease is simply something that most of us shrug off as nothing serious, but in certain cases, it can kill.
