Got a question about the Walk for Skin? You may well find the answer below...
How do I register to take part in the Walk for Skin?
You can register by calling 0207 391 6341, emailing bsfevents@bad.org.uk or better still, register online to the right of this.
Can I enter on the day?
All walkers are asked to register before the event. This is because of health and safety considerations and also to ensure that all walkers receive their t-shirts and information needed prior to the day.
How long are the walks?
All of the walks vary in length. Most walks are between three and eight miles long. However, many of the venues have optional shorter routes for anyone who doesn’t want to walk so far.
Do I have to raise sponsorship?
Yes please! There is an entry fee to cover costs of entry into venues for the Walk for Skin so we still need your sponsorship money to fund important work to find cures and treatments for skin diseases. If you would prefer not to ask friends and family for sponsorship a personal donation is equally welcome.
What is included in my walk pack?
Once you have registered for Walk for Skin you will be sent a Walkers Pack in the post. The pack includes everything you will need to take part including information on when and where the walk is taking place, your sponsor form, tips on fundraising and a free t-shirt.
Where do I send my sponsorship money?
Once you have collected your sponsorship money you can send it by cheque, made payable to British Skin Foundation to:
FREEPOST, British Skin Foundation, 4 Fitzroy Square, London, W1T 5HQ
Please send your sponsorship form with your cheque so that we can claim Gift Aid on your sponsorship.
Can my children take part?
Absolutely. The walks are designed with families in mind. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Not all the walks are suitable for pushchairs, so please get in touch if you want to find out more. Children under 16 years of age will not receive their own Walkers Pack unless requested.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, all of the venues allow dogs as long as they are kept on leads where requested.
Are the walks suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs?
Unfortunately not all the venues are suitable for those in wheelchairs or families with pushchairs although several are. To confirm whether your chosen venue is suitable please call 0207 391 6341 before registering.
