Over the past 15 years, the British Skin foundation has supported close to 260 high quality research projects with a total value of £7.5M.
More than £1.5 million has been put towards research into skin cancer, a further £700,000 towards Psoriasis and £800,000 towards projects looking at Eczema. Work has also been funded which deals with some less common conditions such as Ichthyosis, Vitiligo and Alopecia. In all, the British Skin Foundation has funded research into more than 50 different types of skin disease.
The BSF has also funded some exciting work in partnership with patient support groups such as the National Eczema Society, the Vitiligo Society and the Ichthyosis Support Group, as well as professional dermatological groups including the British Society for Paediatric Dermatology and British Contact Dermatitis Society.
