DermSOC SGUL Did you know that in the UK there are:
- 15,400 cases of melanoma yearly
- 2600 melanoma deaths yearly. THATS SIX EVERY DAY.
- A 39% increase from 2006 to 2016 worldwide
- Its the 5th most common cancer in both men and women!!!
 - Over 100, 000 cases of non-melanoma skin cancer yearly
- People with skin disease suffer twice - once for the skin condition itself and another time for the psychological impact its visibility can have.

We NEED to find better treatments and this can only be done through research.

Please support our fundraiser for the British Skin Foundation - the only UK charity that solely funds research aimed at skin disease. They have already:
1) Played a vital role in funding essential preliminary work that has then progressed to become major national projects. The STOPGAP and PATCH pilot studies are examples of work funded by the BSF which became national studies led by the UK Dermatology Clinical Trials Network, funded by the NIHR
2) Have raised 12 Million £ towards skin research in the UK over the last 21 years
3) Have a read here to see all the different research grants they have given to scientists looking into all types of skin diseases such as skin cancer, eczema and psoriasis!:
