For 30 years, the British Skin Foundation has worked to improve skin health through research, education and partnerships that support our mission.
Bringing you expert skin health guidance, supported by our partners

Why are you seeing this?
For 30 years, the British Skin Foundation has funded research to improve understanding of skin disease and skin health.
That research helps drive progress in prevention, diagnosis and treatment. But good information matters too.
Every day, people turn to social media, friends and online searches for advice about their skin. Unfortunately, not all of that advice is accurate.
That's why, in our 30th anniversary year, we're working with a range of partners to make trusted skin health information easier to find.
Through our Mirror Project, people can access expert information in places where they're already thinking about their skin – whether that's in a clinic, a changing room or at an event.
It's one small way we're helping more people access reliable skin health advice, while continuing our mission to fund the research that improves lives.

Bacne
Back acne, also known as ‘bacne’, is a common condition that can affect both men and women.
It can appear as blackheads and whiteheads (comedones), red inflamed papules, pus-filled pustules and in more persistent cases, deeper nodules or cysts.
Find out more about the causes, preventative measures and treatments.

Sun safety
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the UK and rates continue to rise. At least 100,000 new cases are now diagnosed each year, and the disease kills over 2,500 people each year in the UK - that's seven people every day.
